ABOUT MOWIN PROPERTIES
We are based in the city centre Kampala, the capital of Uganda which has approximately
one million inhabitants. This city takes its name from kasozi k'mpala "the hill
of the antelopes" and its origins go back to 1891 when the kabaka (king of Buganda)
had his court on Rubaga and Mengo hills (one of the hills that now make up Kampala.
COMPANY HISTORY
We are probably the longest established property services firm in Uganda today with
over 16 years experience in the field. We specialize in real estate brokerage to
both Ugandan (local) and foreign community.
Originally this company provided tourism, travel, car hire and real estate brokerage
services. But during the 15 years of the company's existence this activity gradually
expanded and development of a client list that was satisfied with our personal service
and attention to detail.The company changed its name to MOWIN PROPERTIES recently to reflect the present
make up of directors.
The company mainly deals with up market housing in selected
areas which enables rapid turnover and most of the properties are well maintained.
MOWIN stands for Monica and Winfred, a mother and daughter team. The quest for Mowin's
excellence in customer service started as a result of Monica's desire to change
the way real estate agents conducted their business in Uganda.
In the past clients who were interested in real estate were frustrated with the
services due to the inefficient and unreliable services. There was very little advertising
of properties for them to view either in newspapers, brochures or slots.
Currently we are proud to announce a series of services which range from letting,
selling and managing of residential properties. Mowin has created a customer oriented
property services company that has a client base including most of the embassies
and non-governmental organisations as well as considerable local component and individuals.
Most of the business now generated stems from repeat customers
We have a small team of sub contractors whom we have used over the years and know
that they provide good workmanship at a good price. We use them for all construction,
carpentry, plumbing and electrical work as well as ground maintenance.
A large percentage of our clients are from the expatriate community and are more
on short term contracts of two years or less and they often prefer fully furnished
accommodation.
Our client portfolio has been built up over a considerable period by paying attention
to customer requirements and personal service, this has resulted in continuous repeat
